August: Cute Hippie Chick Of The Month
Ah, yes; it's August and that means it's time for "Cute Hippie Chick Of The Month". Poor girl, these guys are so mean! As always, the usual disclaimer is no offense intended to Hippies or cute people.
Actually, that was a pretty mean prak to play on the (admittedly too) trusting hippie chick!
Rat, the guy I told you about earlier, Deng Fu Ming has a set of DVDs out with english subtitles, which look interesting. I'll probably get them in the near future. You can see them here:
Thanks Jose, You must have been reading my mind. I just got a Sun Bagua DVD from Hal Mosher, and it shows the animal stepping patterns. I learned the same patterns but the stepping was much tighter and there are some gaps in my system that I need to fill in. I checked out Deng's listings. Can you get enough out of the subtitles? Do you have his Sun bagua dvd? I saw Joanna Zorya's bagua dvd is listed there also, and appears very complete but is quite a bit more expensive. Thanks for the tip, give me more details on Deng's video's if you can. D.R.
Steve, I even have a film of myself crashing into a lighing pole!
DR: I don't have Deng's new releases in DVD, I have a bunch of his old ones on VCD. They are really good in a strange, informal, matter of fact way. His Bagua sword VCD is one of the best I've seen. He always starts explaining the apps, and then gets completely carried away and shows tons of improvisational stuff. His An Shen Pao (Xingyi two person set) is REALLy good, probably one of the best I've ever seen.
I'll probably order his DVDs later in the month, once I've got them I'll tell you something.
A martial artist in transition, beyond youthful angst into middle-mellow; this Rat shares a dojo with similar vermin on an island off the coast of Washington State

I've done that very thing more than once... I mean walking into poles or parking meters.
