Snake Style #5 -- Snake On A Mat!
In today's episode of Snake Style, BJJ Black Belt Randy Bloom demonstrates his "Snake Movement Drill". This looks like a good drill to get back to a fighting position when you find yourself in the unfortunate position of flat-on-your-back with some dude pounding on you. Dude,
For me you killed it with this snake stuff ... i.e. Betriaux ... Green Dragon Black Cobra ... et cetera :)
Ha! we always called that motion shrimping, but 'good snakey motion' sounds cooler ;-)
I agree that this type of motion is important - crucial to all ground work - the basis upon which virtually all ground mobility is built. And this is a good demonstrtion of it.
but the snake metaphor might be twisting it a little bit. of course, it looks just as much like a snake as it does a shrimp...
Well, he did call it "The Snake Drill",,,
This video is from my YouTube account. Randy calls it a snake movement because that is what his instructor always referred to it as. Others call it shrimping as well. It is one of the fundamental movements found in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
