Fantastic Sword Cuts, Seemingly Impossible
Wow! First of all, these Japanese game show formats just crack me up. But holy crap, it doesn't seem that these stunts are faked. If true, this is the stuff that legends are made of... keep watching, it gets better -
Well I can believe it's for real- I'm sure if you train long and hard with the sword (I am a mere beginner!) then it will feel almost as if it's part of you. I don't mean in some mystical way I just think it would feel like an extension of your arm if you practice enough.
Secondly- the show doesn't state how many times it takes him to cut those small objects (it may have been the 10th time!) but either way it's impressive. I reckon this guy has one other ability over and above me: excellent eyesight!
Exactly, like I said, halfway between martial arts and performance art. A topic I fancy myself an expert on. (I am a performer with a martial arts schtick)
A regular Ogami Itto! The stuff from which great manga are made!
ReplyDeleteDR: The sword saint must be turning over in his grave.
ReplyDeleteAt the end the host is actually touching the blade with his bare hands...ugh, such a breach of etiquette.
Very cool video. I wonder if this his walks that fine line between martial arts and performance art.
ReplyDeleteJapanese game shows never fail to shock and amaze!

Domo Arigato Gozaimashita!
Hey, you're right-
ReplyDeleteIt could have taken dozens of attempts to pull off some of those cuts.
--Still, impressive~!

ReplyDeleteIs it me or does this dude look like a butch ladies' lady? Credit to his/her sword skills though.
